Proudly served for over 30 years as professional firefighter promoted through the ranks to become Chief of Department (Fire Chief) of the state’s largest urban center with a daytime population of over 1 million people.  Possessed a high degree of fire management expertise, professional education and certifications as well as leadership command of a city which encompassed Newark Liberty International Airport, Port of Newark, the largest container shipping port on the U.S. eastern seaboard.  Responsibilities included but not limited to overseeing largest fire suppression force in State of NJ, protecting all municipal infrastructure, Newark Liberty Airport, Port of Newark, major waterways, major northeastern urban transportation hubs, high-rise corporate headquarters, financial services industry centers, federal, state and county judicial complexes, as well as residential dwellings. Additional responsibilities included countywide hazardous materials response, Metro Urban Search and Rescue Strike Team (MUSAR), US Coast Guard NJ Regional Fire Boat Task Force and regional mutual aid fire suppression response.
