Dutch Productions is a company that appreciates the art of the story, whether it’s in a
30 second spot, a 60 second piece for social, or a two-hour documentary. While
enjoying the thrills of a 25-year relationship with Madison Square Garden, Dutch has
produced commercials, social media content, features, shows, and documentaries for
the Garden and many others, focusing primarily in sports and entertainment. Dutch’s
varied clients include the National Hockey League, the New York Knicks and Rangers,
One World Observatory, Oak View Group, Hudson Yards Experience, institutions of
higher-learning like Monmouth University, Pace University and The New School, and
non-profits Garden of Dreams Foundation, United Negro College Fund, Make-A-Wish,
among others. For eight years, Dutch was the production company of choice for the
YMCA of Greater New York.
The biggest challenge to anyone who has tried to produce a documentary or television show is to effectively communicate your message to an audience. That communication begins with knowing how to tell a story that is both compelling and entertaining. There are always decisions to be made as to the best way to accomplish this: is the story best told linearly? with re-enactments? with animation? using stock footage? How many interviews should be included, can there be too many talking heads? Where should I use a musical montage?
